WORKSHOP | Get Smart – What future managers should know about Smart Digital Technologies – Thursday 12 March 13.30 – 15.30
March 12 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Get Smart – What future managers should know about Smart Digital Technologies
New, rapidly emerging digital technologies, often considered “smart”, are transforming the business world. For example, the Japanese “Henn na” Hotel is completely run by robots; a virtual reality headset lets football fans around the globe attend Manchester United’s next game; IKEA lets customers augment their reality with virtual furniture in their living rooms; and Amazon’s Alexa is becoming part of students’ everyday lives: “Alexa, what’s the weather like today, when is my doctor’s appointment, and what was the deadline for that mid-term paper again?”
Technology is getting smarter; future managers need to get smarter about technology – they need a solid understanding of how smart technologies can create value for a firm’s various stakeholders. This workshop provides you with applied managerial insights into AI-voice assistants, social robots, and virtual and augmented reality. The focus is on developing your digital literacy and helping you to understand how to identify business opportunities where value can be created with smart technologies.
