LECTURE | The subtle art of not fucking up your career: A crash course for post-university life – Wednesday 11 March 13.30 – 15.30

March 11 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

The subtle art of not fucking up your career: A crash course for post-university life

Of course, you should not start your professional life with the goal to not “fuck it up”, but rather on getting the most out of it. But trust me, you will make some mistakes along the way. The trick is to enjoy the journey and learn from your missteps.

In order to kick-start your career and to prevent you from making the same mistakes I have made, I put together a survival guide with all the necessary do’s and don’ts to get you ready for post-university life.

I will share my learnings on career, work-life balance and cultural perspectives. During the session, you can expect a lot of hands-on tips, real-life examples, honesty, humor and maybe even a small reality-check for some of you.

Speaker

Lars Smits (34), is trying to find his “ikigai” (google that!) since he left Maastricht University. On his quest to find his life goal, he lived in Dublin and Berlin, working for companies like LinkedIn and Zalando and managing a co-working space focusing on Blockchain technology. Now he is in the midst of a radical change in his life and decided to start his own company. On the side, he is doing semi-professional attempts in photography, travel blogging, DJing, and public speaking (as of today).
